Biography

Contralto Rebekah Ambrosini appears regularly as a soloist with many major American symphony orchestras. Solo career highlights include performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir under the baton of renowned conductor Keith Lockhart, a Carnegie Hall debut in Mozart’s Requiem with Musica Sacra, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 under the baton of Gilbert Kaplan, and Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel with the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan. Recent solo engagements include Handel’s Messiah with Canterbury Chorale and OKC Philharmonic, a virtual performance of Beethoven’s Mass in C with the Tulsa Chorale, Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the Helena, Montana Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic and Tulsa Chorale, Bach’s Magnificat in D with Canterbury Chorale and the Oklahoma City Symphony, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Reading Symphony Orchestra of Pennsylvania, Saint-Saëns Requiem and Handel’s Messiah with Ft. Wayne Symphony, and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the Messiah Festival of the Arts in Lindsborg, Kansas. Ms. Ambrosini has performed principal roles with Cincinnati Opera, Tulsa Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Sarasota Opera, Music Theatre of Wichita, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, the Festival de Lille in France, and she spent six seasons as alto soloist with The Classical Music Festival in Austria. In 2023-2024 she will be singing the alto solos in Bach’s Magnificat and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Norman Philharmonic and the Zielinski Singers. A native of Enid, Oklahoma, Rebekah was a Regional Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and is currently an Associate Professor of Voice at Southern Nazarene University, where she is delighted to teach many amazingly talented students!
